Detergent Moisture

[rank_math_breadcrumb]
Detergent MoistureMaintaining an absolutely correct detergent moisture level in detergent powders has become a critical component during production. Being such a porous material, detergents can easily become either too wet or dry wasting manufacturers time and money.

With the help of industry partners and 40 years of knowledge, MoistTech has developed its highly advanced IR-3000 detergent moisture sensor which is ideally suited to measure the detergent moisture levels in the production process while improving manufactures product quality and lowering their energy costs.

Installation

By installing the IR-3000 Detergent Moisture Sensor in the processing area, a manufacturer can continuously monitor the process and can control the detergent moisture content either manually or automatically.

To accurately measure the detergent moisture levels, the sensor should be installed over the conveyor transporting the detergent. The sensor should be mounted several inches above the belt, screw conveyor or any area where the material can be viewed.

Environment

Normally, dust from the product is not a problem. However, in extreme dusty environments, we recommend the installation of an air purge system to prevent the accumulation of material on the sensor’s window.

Benefits of Detergent Moisture Control

  • Improved Product Quality
  • Lower Energy Costs
  • Reduced Start-up Times
  • Less Waste
  • 100% Product Inspection
  • Less Downtime

MoistTech’s team of professionals is very experienced with the requirements in the production of detergents. Our sensor calibrations, measurement wavelengths, algorithms and sensor optical requirements are pre-set at the factory. Typical accuracy is about ±0.1% moisture. Typical analog range is 0-10% moisture and up to as much as 40%, subject to application. The outputs can be adjusted to optimize PLC or recording requirements.
